Punjab Kings Players: As it combines cricket and Bollywood, two of India’s most glitzy industries, the Indian Premier League is arguably the most entertaining cricket league in the world. A select few IPL clubs are owned by Bollywood icons who are frequently photographed having fun with their teams off the pitch.
Actor Preity Zinta, the owner of the Punjab Kings (formerly known as Kings XI Punjab), is one of the most adored personalities among IPL franchise owners. The actress recently shared a story from the 2009 IPL season in which she was required to bake 120 aloo parathas for her squad in order to keep her commitment.
“I didn’t notice how much the boys eat until recently. We were in South Africa, and the paranthas weren’t very excellent. Then I promised to teach them how to make all paratha. The lads asked me to make all of the parathas for them after noticing this. I promised them that if they won the following game, I would bake aloo parathas. They triumphed. After that, I created 120 aloo parathas. After that, I quit preparing aloo parathas,” Zinta said in a funny Star Sports interview.
Punjab Kings, one of the most well-liked IPL teams, has never been able to claim the IPL championship. In 2014, when they ended as runners-up and fell to Kolkata Knight Riders in the championship game, they turned in their best-ever performance.
PBKS’ final IPL 2023 match saw them fall to LSG by a score of 57 runs.
With four victories in eight games, PBKS are now sitting sixth in the IPL 2023 points standings. Punjab conceded the second-highest total in IPL history in their most recent match against Lucknow Super Giants, who made 257/5 while batting first.
LSG won by a margin of 56 runs as the PBKS hitters put up a valiant fightback but were bowled out for 201 in 19.5 overs. At Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium on Sunday, April 30, they will play the Chennai Super Kings.
