Female Cricket Players: The forthcoming Women’s exhibition matches are scheduled to take place on March 8, 10, and 11 at the Pindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) released the schedule and provided information on those games on Thursday, March 2. The teams’ names, Amazons and Super Women have already been revealed, but the squads have not.
Also, PCB wants to use this competition to recognise Women’s Day. Together with Pink Ribbon Pakistan, the management intends to raise awareness of breast cancer during the second game of the competition. In contrast, they will emphasise the value of women’s empowerment via education in the third match in association with Circle Women.
Tania Mallick, the head of women’s cricket for the PCB, on the other hand, expressed her excitement for the exhibition games. She thinks that these pairings will empower Pakistani women and provide them with a platform for growth.
“I am overjoyed and happy that the Women’s League exhibition games are taking place. Our players are given the opportunity to showcase their abilities and perform at their highest level during these exhibition games. When local players compete in a league with foreign players, it gives them the chance to learn about their ability level and inspires them to get better,” she stated in a PCB release.
“The three exhibition games on March 8, 10, and 11 are also played with a message that is relevant to women all around the nation. This will do a lot to empower our women, not just as cricket players but also by giving them a voice and opening up opportunities outside of the game,” according to Tania.
Tariq Rasheed and Saleema Imtiaz will serve as the on-field umpires for the third match while Shozab Raza and Humaira Farah will serve as the officials for the second match. Humaira, who officiated the game, expressed her excitement at the honour and her belief that it will ultimately benefit women’s cricket.
“I consider it a great honour to officiate Women’s League exhibition games. These games will not only allow female cricket players to express themselves on the field, but they will also provide us with the chance to improve our abilities even more. This will significantly boost the number of women who participate in this sport as officials and players,” she said.
