Alfie Taylor, is best known for his performances with Hull City’s U23 team. The defender has now managed to represent the senior team as well.
Starting at the academy in the Under-9s. Alfie Taylor signed his first professional contract in May 2021. Following the conclusion of his two-year scholarship.
Having made an appearance in Hull’s loss against Reading on the weekend. The centre back let out his frustrations about the defeat. He mentioned that his team needs to stop conceding sloppy goals. He added that the team needs to be consistent as well.
“I think we started off really brightly,” said Taylor.
“We started really well by getting a goal early on. But as the game went on in the second half we started to drop off them a bit. We weren’t as intense and we weren’t good enough in both boxes.
“We need to be more consistent throughout the 90 minutes. We’ve started every game really well, but we seem to fade out towards the second half and start conceding sloppy goals.
“I think we can compete with most teams as we have a good team ourselves and play some good football, but we just need to be better in both boxes by defending well and not giving away sloppy goals and taking our chances when they come.
“I played a lot of what was known as Under-23s football last season in my scholarship; I was playing so many games and it is good to be rewarded with it.
“We just need to do everything right, do well, and be more consistent in both games (Barnsley & Fulham) to get positive results.”
