Ashley Young made a triumphant return to Aston Villa, his childhood love, following successful seasons at Manchester United and Internazionale, where he won titles. On Monday, he finally succeeded in reviving the Birmingham club’s fans.
On Monday, Ashley Young and the rest of the Aston Villa team faced off against Nottingham. At the City Ground, Emmanuel Dennis scored the first goal for the home team.
Ashley Young scores for Aston Villa after 4175 days
Despite a bright beginning, the Reds could only manage a point. Young succeeded in netting the equaliser after slightly less than 22 minutes. He eventually scored once more after 4175 days. Then, Young scored his final goal for Villa on May 7, 2011. Additionally, it was the equaliser in Wigan Athletic’s home match.
The veteran realised that despite celebrating his equaliser in the moment, the club ultimately fell short. As neither team was able to add to the score, the game ended in a 1-1 tie.
He reflected on his most recent goal, saying, “I knew I was going to shoot.” According to him, it didn’t exactly make him happy. Young said “The locker room is filled with a lot of frustration. Despite having so many possessions, we hardly ever managed to pose a threat. Something that occurs to us more frequently and needs to be improved.
“Scoring is always satisfying. I am confident in my capacity to act. However, I consider it a loss if you choose to draw.”
The Villans currently sit in 16th place in the league after nine games due to the outcome. Steven Gerrard, the trainer, had nothing but praise for the exercise. Young is still viewed by him as a powerful force. Gerrard mentioned, “That attack was great. One of the few occasions when things could go wrong. Ashley demonstrates why he is an excellent role model for us. We are pleased with him greatly.”
