After breaking the Bundesliga speed record, Bayern Munich starlet Alphonso Davies has once again caught the eye (just about!).
Davies started back left as Bayern clinched his eighth consecutive league title on Tuesday against Werder Bremen.
Soon, he clocked down the flank with an impressive 22.7 mph in a particular electric dash.
The Canada international blitzed into smothering the strike, and later Romelu Lukaku and Declan Rice took to social media to show their appreciation. After the game, Team-mate Thomas Muller also lovingly labelled Davies ‘the Road Runner.’
However, his searing pace could not prevent him from being dismissed and during the final 10 minutes Bayern was forced to scrap for all three points.
So, Davies also proved his rawness in Bremen, having been sent off for the first time in his senior career for two bookable offences.
The 19-year-old was one of the breakthrough talents in this season’s German top flight. The highly esteemed teenager joined the club in 2018 and has made a total of 42 appearances.
Last season, however, he was forced to settle for just six cameos but this year he has featured in 36 games.
With three goals in total to his name, Davies has already developed an unsurprisingly sterling reputation.
And he continued to impress in Tuesday night’s win by the Bavarian club against Werder Bremen after breaking the Bundesliga speed record.
