As the vote of no confidence in the president approaches, Barcelona President Josep Maria Bartomeu is said to be considering urging the whole board to resign.
Well over 16,000 signatures were gathered to drive the highly unpopular Bartomeu out of Camp Nou earlier than planned.
And the Barcelona board must now meet to set a date for the referendum.
Marca reports that club officials will all meet to finalize the vote on Monday, which is supposed to take place on November 1 or 2.
However, many at the club are said to be upset that fans will be encouraged to leave their homes amid a pandemic to vote.
The board thus argued that there is not enough time to enforce all the safety regulations that are stricter than just social distancing, given that Spain is still in a state of emergency due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
So, they are looking to force a 15-day delay to the vote.
