A 2-0 victory at Stadio Dall’Ara holds Juventus top of Serie A table. It is a definite step up for Juventus from their poor results against Milan and Napoli in the Coppa Italia.
In Bologna, Leonardo Bonucci saw this as a ‘fundamental’ victory, as Juventus realized ‘the path forward is of sacrifice, humility and at all costs bringing the result home.’
“This was a fundamental match, there’s no denying it, as we had to give a response to ourselves. If we are the team we saw tonight, then we’ll achieve great things,” Bonucci told Sky Sport Italia.
“A squad like ours has to be made up of great men even more than great players. This is the path forward, the one of sacrifice, humility, the desire to bring home the result at all costs.”
Reports of tension had been made within the group and with coach Maurizio Sarri this week. But Bonucci puts forth his own opinion:
“I think too much was said outside our dressing room. We had to respond with actions, not words. We talked to each other, as we always have done at Juventus over the years, and we set out a plan with the path going forward. We saw that tonight.”
