In the Champions League quarter-final, Chelsea beat Porto in an away bout. And head coach Thomas Tuchel is cautiously happy, after Chelsea winning Chelsea vs Porto. Tuchel has analysed his team.
Mason Mount opened the scoring for Chelsea, while Ben Chilwell’s goal sealed their victory.
“There is a good atmosphere in the dressing room, we are happy but not too happy, excited but not too excited,” said Chelsea’s coach Thomas Tuchel.
But though Chelsea have won 2-0 the first-leg of Chelsea vs Porto, Tuchel is already speaking with foresight. He said: “We have to have a top mentality and a top performance next Tuesday.”
Mount became Chelsea’s youngest ever scorer in the Champions League. At 22 years and 87 days old, his goal for the match broke a club record.
And Tuchel said: “Mason is an important and key player for us and I am happy he fits into this role at a young age. It is good to have him.”
Tuchel’s 14-match unbeaten start as the coach of Chelsea was disrupted by a Saturday loss. They lost 5-2 to West Brom at home, in the Premier League.
“After losing such a strange game we said the best situation would be to produce a clean sheet straight away and this makes it very precious, this result,” Tuchel said, after the team qualified the ECL.
