Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen has announced his commitment to remain at Stamford Bridge.
“I’ve never looked anywhere else,” Christensen told. “I’ve never doubted my situation. I’ve always had my eyes at Chelsea.”
During Maurizio Sarri’s time as head coach, the 24-year-old struggled for regular action with the Blues and was consistently linked with a move away from the club.
Under Frank Lampard, however, the Denmark international has been a regular, making 23 appearances in all competitions and starting 10 of the club’s last 11 Premier League matches.
Christensen played the entire 90 minutes as Chelsea endured a 3-2 loss Wednesday night at West Ham United in the Premier League.
Christensen proclaimed his “heart” for the London club before saying he would be open to extending his current contract, which will expire in the summer of 2022:
“I’ve had my contract and I’ve always expected to finish that and I’ve always dreamed of even more than that. Nothing has changed. Obviously, it was a different situation last season but I still love being here, that’s the short answer.”
