Como midfielder Cesc Fábregas took part in an interview with the English Daily Mail where he discussed how he would react to a potential benching. Once his playing days are finished, the Catalan player hopes to become a coach.
The midfielder lauded the qualities of some of these managers, including Wenger, Guardiola, Conte, Mourinho, Luis Aragonés, and Del Bosque, while sharing a dressing room with them.
Cesc began: “Regardless of whether they are more defensive or offensive, great coaches always want to win. Others, like Klopp and Guardiola, will have more of an impact on how you feel about the game. However, they all approach the game with the same mentality, trying to persuade their players that this is the proper strategy for winning matches and championships in football.”
In particular, Fabregas treasures his guidance from Arsène Wenger, who served as his manager at Arsenal.
“Arsene was always quite open to dialogue, asking, “What do you think about this?,” and communicating. He was constantly cognitively challenging you. Coaches today are not like that. They are more along the lines of, “It’s me, do as I say, and that’s it.” It’s a form of self-defense that spares them from having to defend themselves. They decide what to do. If you enjoy being with him, stay; if not, leave. The coaches currently operate in this manner. I grew up with Arsene and Del Bosque in a different setting. I always have been and always will be like that. Always treating others with respect, yet expressing what I believe,” the Como midfielder Cesc Fábregas added.
