Former Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, who is close to a move to PSG, has published a farewell letter to Milan. Addressing Rossoneri fans, says Donnarumma – ‘I came to Milan almost as a child’.
Gianluigi Donnarumma, who’s proved his mettle by helping Italy win Euro 2020, has transferred out of Milan. He’s now almost at Paris Saint-Germain’s doorstep after the agent of the best football player currently in goalkeeping played hardball.
Donnarumma Says Goodbye
“Sometimes it’s difficult to make a choice, but it’s part of a person’s development,” Donnarumma wrote on Instagram.
Wrote Donnarumma: “I came to Milan almost as a child. For eight years I wore the jersey with pride.
“We fought, we endured, we won, we cried, we rejoiced together with our teammates and coaches. Everyone who did it, as well as our fans, have also been an integral part of our family over the years.”
“In a Rossoneri shirt, I also achieved important personal achievements, such as my Serie A debut at the age of 16. I have had some great years here which I will never forget,” he continued.
“Now, the time has come to part ways,” he said next, however. “Sometimes change is the right thing to do. I take on new challenges to grow and improve.
“All the Rossoneri I met from my first to my last day at the club will remain forever in my heart as an important and truly fundamental part of the journey of life that has made me the man I have become.”
“I wish Milan every possible success and I do so with all my heart,” he finished in his farewell message. “Love binds me to these colours, a feeling that defies neither distance nor time.”
