In England, more and more people are starting to believe in Erik ten Hag’s working method. The Manchester United manager has made a big impression since his entry into the Premier League. Club icon Rio Ferdinand is lyrical about the Tukker.
“Ten Hag has turned out to be fantastic for Manchester United in everything,” according to Rio Ferdinand
“The choice for Ten Hag turned out to be fantastic,” Ferdinand told the BBC. The former defender is very impressed by the coach. And that in every aspect of the profession. “He’s great in every way. Tactically he is good, but his substitutions always turn out well. He influences the games and bends them to his will. That’s why they win games. And then there are the big decisions that have worked out in his favor,” the former Manchester United employee added.
Biggest decisions made
Ferdinand saw that Erik ten Hag’s working dared to intervene with the club’s biggest players. “He dared to make decisions about players like Cristiano Ronaldo and Marcus Rashford. He just went into all those situations. And most importantly, he came out much more positive. With Ten Hag, the club has progressed on every front,” the former defender showered his compliments.
“He set a new standard from the start,” Ferdinand concluded. The former defender is enjoying it to the fullest. “It’s refreshing to see. I actually think Ten Hag must have been stunned when he joined the club. Then he saw how low morale was and how the club had set the standard too low in many areas.”
Club icon Rio Ferdinand believes the best is yet to come
Raising the bar has sent the entire club into an upward spiral. That’s what Ferdinand says. “He did a good job with those little things. Discipline is back, norms and values have been restored and the level of training has risen. There are expectations every day. It’s really very pretty. He also enjoys it, but does not let go. Ten Hag knows that there is still a lot of work to be done and you see the fire in his eyes to keep working on it.”
