Fener manager Jorge Jesus can well understand Cristiano Ronaldo’s choice to break with Manchester United. The Portuguese coach still sees the attacker as one of the few real world top players.
Trainer Jesus, who started preparing for the second half of the season with Fenerbahçe this week, can well imagine that Ronaldo has broken with Manchester United before the World Cup . “I understand his situation very well. We are both Portuguese, we have a good relationship. He and Lionel Messi may be playing their last World Cup.”
“For a good performance in Qatar, Ronaldo wanted to throw the ballast overboard,” Jesus thinks. “He is an example for the whole world. He’s not in it for the money. He won everything, but still plays with the same passion and the same hunger for success as ever. That shows his love for football.”
That, in the eyes of Jesus, is what separates the real greats from the rest of the superstars. “The best players reach the highest level because of their love for the sport. That was also the case with Pelé and Diego Maradona. And also with Messi and Ronaldo. They put football above everything else in their lives. That’s why I think that not every player can reach their level.”
“Ronaldo can certainly climb the highest step of the podium in Qatar, according to Jesus. Portugal, Brazil, France and Spain are the favourites. After that come Argentina and England, they are not of the same level in terms of quality. But anything can happen in such a tournament. I think the first four countries have the most qualities,” he concludes
Cristiano Ronaldo seems to be able to continue his career at Al-Nassr. Following the example of American media, Spain is now also reporting on a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabia.
So Al-Nassr does have a serious interest. The American channel CBS Sports already reported on this this week and now the Spanish Marca comes with the same news. According to the Madrid sports newspaper, Ronaldo is even close to a switch to the club from Saudi Arabia, where Rudi García is the trainer.
There would be a contract for two and a half years ready. Ronaldo could earn a total of no less than two hundred million euros a year in Riyadh. That offer cannot be matched by any other club.
