Hector Bellerin has acknowledged that if his loan spell at Real Betis ends, he would want to stay there permanently. Rather than return to his parent club Arsenal, he might prefer continuing with Real Betis on a long-term deal. So, among news of other football transfers, Bellerin does not want to return to Arsenal.
The Spaniard was a regular starter for the Gunners for seven seasons, appearing in 239 games in all competitions.
But Bellerin had to return to his own country this season after he was evidently missing from Mikel Arteta’s plans.
When Bellerin’s loan stay at Seville finishes in the near future, though, he may have to go back to Arsenal. After all, even then, he will have another year left on his contract.
However, he has hinted that he would not have made the transition to the club he loved as a child if he didn’t intend to make it a permanent move.
Football Transfers – Bellerin Does Not Want to Return to Arsenal
Hector Bellerin told El Desmarque in football news: “I don’t know, but I’ve always said if I didn’t want to be here next season, I wouldn’t have come from the beginning.
“There are many things to be decided but what I want to do is enjoy this season that I am here. And what has to happen will happen.”
He also mentioned that Dani Ceballos was maybe returning to Manuel Pellegrini’s Betis side.
Ceballos earned his name as a youngster at Real Betis, but his career has stalled since joining Real Madrid.
Curiously, Ceballos also suffered two poor loan spells at Arsenal. And both these terms failed to persuade the Gunners to sign him on a permanent basis.
Bellerin said about Ceballos: “That is something for only he and Betis. I talk to him a lot, for us Betis is something that unites us and for me, it would be very nice to play here with him.”
Bellerin reportedly took a significant pay cut to secure his summer move. But the 26-year-old said it wasn’t a role in his choice.
“It is clear that money is something important because it is our job. But I think in football that love of sport, of the club, is being lost,” Bellerin added.
“And for me, after having understood and had that feeling since childhood, there are things that you put first. This past year and a half have made us rethink many things.
“For me and for everyone, it was an effort to carry out the operation, not only from the point of view of money. Also, how much it cost us to get here. In the end, those efforts pay off and I had other priorities when making my decision.”
