Nottingham Forest travelled to Craven Cottage knowing a win is imperative to ensure they at least compete in the playoffs and to stand a chance at direct promotion.
The club managed that through a narrow 0-1 scoreline. It was Zinckernagel’s 15th minute goal that separated both sides in a contest that was mostly dominated by the hosts.
Following the result, the visitors have moved to 3rd place and are separated from the Cherries by just three points.

Post match reaction
Head Coach Steve Cooper: “We put Fulham under great pressure at the start of the game and that resulted in us getting some really good opportunities, particularly in the first half and we forced mistakes.
“We carried that on after the goal but naturally it’s going to drop off a little bit when you come here, this is the toughest game of the season and you accept that you have to do all parts of your game well.
“Defensively we were brilliant and Brice made an important save but I feel the chances that we created were just as good and tactically we were excellent.
“Second half we had to change slightly but we showed great heart and soul. It was a physical and emotionally demanding game but I really liked us tactically without the ball and that’s credit to the work we’ve put in on the training pitch.
“Now is the time to get ready for Swansea, they’ve had some good results lately and it’s always going to be a challenging week or two with the amount of games we’ve had to play in April.
“We’ve got to stay focused, we’ve got to stay ready, recover well and turn our concentration on to the next game.”
