Heerenveen’s Amin Sarr signs permanently for Olympique Lyon. The French club reports on the club website that it pays eleven million euros for the 21-year-old attacker, who ends up with the most expensive outgoing transfers from Heerenveen. The amount can increase to twelve million due to bonuses. Sarr signs with Lyon until mid-2027.
On Saturday, the news came out that Heerenveen and Lyon were discussing a lightning transfer from Sarr, who was eager to make the switch to France. The attacker from Malmö scored five times in the Eredivisie this season. Last weekend he was decisive with two goals against rival FC Groningen (3-1 win).
Heerenveen took over the Swedish youth international from Malmö FF a year ago. Sarr was incorporated for more than two million euros. Heerenveen therefore makes a substantial profit and also benefits from a future resale. Sarr came into action against Vitesse on Saturday evening. It was already clear then that it was most likely his last match in Frisian service.
“Amin has distinguished himself with goals and assists. We are therefore losing a very good player,” says technical manager Ferry de Haan on the Heerenveen website. “But that’s how we are as a club. We try to bring in good young players and then sell them. That worked out well with Amin. He has put himself in the spotlight here as a talented player and we have proved to be the right springboard for him. We are proud of Amin and proud of this beautiful transfer. We therefore wish him every success in Lyon.”
SC Heerenveen signs Jeffrey Bruma
SC Heerenveen has completed the arrival of Jeffrey Bruma. The 31-year-old defender has signed a contract with the Frisians until the end of the season, where he is the successor to the injured Sven van Beek.
Van Beek, captain of Heerenveen and mainstay in the defense, will be out of circulation for the coming months due to an Achilles tendon injury. The club then set its sights on Bruma. After the 25-time international had his contract with Kasimpasa dissolved, the way was clear for a switch to Friesland.
“After Sven van Beek’s injury, we wanted to strengthen ourselves with an extra central defender,” says technical manager Ferry de Haan van Heerenveen on the club site. “We are very happy that we have now found this reinforcement in Jeffrey. With him we add a very experienced defender to our selection for the rest of the season.”
