India will kick off their Hung Thinh Friendly Football Tournament campaign today. They face Singapore at the Thong Nhat Stadium in Vietnam’s Ho Chi Minh City.
The Hung Thinh Friendly will kick off at IST 5.30pm. Viewers will be able to watch the match live on Eurosport India or the Indian Football Facebook Page.
The coach of the Indian national team, Igor Stimac appeared in the pre-match conference of the fixture. He discussed the strengths of the opponents and gave an insight into how his men planned to overcome them.
He also gave a summary of his work with the team so far and was optimistic about the team’s progress.
“They have progressed well in recent years and have a new coach. He changed the system that often imposes challenge for the opponents. However, I asked my players to play confidently against them and display our talents,” Stimac said.
“Singapore are brilliant in the pressing area. If you observe the way they press the ball all over the pitch to challenge the opponents. It is definitely an advantage they have in this area.
“We should agree to the fact that their fitness level is,way, better than ours. But we should show composure and compete with our morale high.
“I think that we have sufficient technically gifted players who will fight against the pressing. Our formation will make it tight and difficult for them. We will stick to our strengths to find space on the weak positions.”
