Of late, doubts have been cast over the participation of N’Golo Kante in Chelsea’s nine upcoming games this season.
Firstly, Kante played no role in the first step of a return to training which initially ruled out any interaction between the players and staff. Then, he wasn’t even included in Saturday’s in-house preparation game at Stamford Bridge.
However, now it seems, he is still squarely in the fold as Lampard steps up his preparatory activities.
As such, the midfielderfull contact training with Frank Lampard’s side, as social distancing measures have been eased in the Premier League’s regular rounds of COVID-19 testing.
Chelsea will continue to let Kante work at his own speed for maximum match sharpness, which may result in him skipping the early rounds of fixtures.
Thus the France International will now be able to be involved in the remaining Premier League fixtures of the Blues.
What part will Kante play in that outing, or in any of those taking the Blues past the finishing post, remains to be seen.
