Kirsty Hanson has left Manchester United to join Women’s Super League side Aston Villa on loan. The English forward will remain at the Bescot Stadium for the remainder of the season.
Hanson joined Manchester United in 2018 and has made 90 appearances for the club since. She has also managed to score 16 goals in those fixtures. The forward was an integral part of United’s FA Women’s Championship title-winning side.
The Scottish international has won 12 caps with the national team. And she scored once in those games.
Villa announced, “Aston Villa Women are pleased to announce the signing of Kirsty Hanson on a season-long loan from Manchester United, subject to league approval.
“Hanson, 24, is a forward who can operate across the frontline. The Scotland international becomes Carla Ward’s eighth summer signing.
“Welcome to Aston Villa, Kirsty!”
The Red Devils confirmed, “Manchester United Women can today confirm that midfielder Kirsty Hanson will spend the 2022/23 season on loan at fellow Barclays Women’s Super League side Aston Villa.
“Everyone at Manchester United Women wishes Kirsty a very successful 2022/23 campaign in claret and blue.”
Aston Villa manager Ward said: “Kirsty is someone I’ve known for many years.”
“She’s an exciting talent who will add quality and experience to our forward line.”
