Manchester United have reportedly made contact with representatives of Willian this summer to negotiate a free transfer.
Willian, who has spent seven years at Chelsea, wants three more years at Chelsea. But only two will be offered by the Blues, and the Brazilian may even refuse to sign a short-term extension to see the rest of the campaign last till June 30.
So, the 31-year-old Brazil international looks set to leave Chelsea this summer when his contract expires and if the winger becomes available for nothing, a host of clubs across Europe are on red alert.
Liverpool, Tottenham and Arsenal were all linked with a move this summer for Willian.
Now, according to, United too has informed Willian’s agent Kia Joorabchian of their interest.
Recently, the winger told Brazilian outlet Esporte Interativo: “It is a difficult situation because Chelsea offered me two years and they will not change what they offered. I said I wanted another three years.
“Because of that the situation is difficult. I don’t really know if it’s going to [stay] possible.
