Maurizio Sarri’s old friend Aurelio Virgili told Tuttosport that he believes Sarri will return before Christmas and hopes to take over Fiorentina.
“When I recently went to eat at Maurizio’s house, I didn’t see where he placed the Tricolor medal, but I gave him a personalised bottle dedicated to the triumph,” Virgili said.
“I, like all Fiorentina fans, despite having the utmost respect for Beppe Iachini, have a dream: Maurizio in Florence. Seeing him win with Fiorentina would be the best.”
It is indeed rumoured that Sarri began talks with Juventus to end his contract in Turin and maybe back in a dugout ‘before Christmas’ in Serie A.
After one year with Chelsea, Sarri returned to Italy, where he helped the Blues win the Europa League, but failed to persuade the Old Lady.
The Tuscan coach was finally fired, despite winning the Scudetto in his first year at the Allianz Stadium.
