Midfielder Konrad Laimer has strengthened Bayern Munich’s selection with his arrival in Munich. The midfielder comes over from RB Leipzig, where his contract expired. The transfer has been pending for a while.
Konrad Laimer signs with Bayern Munich until 2027
The arrival of Laimer was a wish of the now fired Julian Nagelsmann, who knows him well from his time at Leipzig. The club wanted to extend the 26-year-old Austrian’s contract, but respects his wish to make the move to Bayern. There he signed until the summer of 2027 and will be a competitor of Ryan Gravenberch.
“A dream has come true for me, because Bayern is one of the biggest clubs in the world,” Laimer said through the Bayern channels. “I will give everything for the club and the fans. Bayern always have the highest goals – just like me: so I’m in the right place here. I will give 100 percent every day in training. I can hardly wait for it.”
Laimer is Bayern’s first summer reinforcement. The club will get a number of loaned out players back this summer, including Marcel Sabitzer and goalkeeper Alexander Nübel.
Rummenigge reveals second incoming transfer for Bayern
Bayern Munich is also certain of the arrival of Raphaël Guerreiro. Karl-Heinz Rummenigge revealed that around the Champions League final between Manchester City and Internazionale.
Rummenigge was present at the match in Istanbul and spoke to the German press before the start about the final, but of course also about Bayern. “The transfer market is open, every team is now trying to get stronger,” said the club icon, who has been part of the supervisory board at Bayern since the end of May. “I think we have already got very good players with Guerreiro and Laimer.”
Nothing has yet been reported about Guerreiro. However, his transfer from Borussia Dortmund was already expected: German media already unpacked this week with the news that the Portuguese and Bayern had agreed on a collaboration.
Like Laimer, Guerreiro also comes to Bayern on a free transfer. The 29-year-old defender-cum-midfielder has played for Dortmund in the past seven seasons and played in 224 games. According to German reports, he will sign for three years at Bayern, until mid-2026.
