Mohamed Salah had not been shy to admit how much the Champions League final meant to him. The Egyptian looked forward to avenge Los Blancos even before the 2nd leg of the City vs Madrid match took place.
In the buildup to the fixture, players of both sides were exchanging strong challenges and mind games. However, it was Real Madrid who were crowned champions through a 1-0 win.
The loss has left the former Chelsea man heartbroken, who was not upto the mark in Paris. He took this frustration and agony to social media.
“Being recognised by the fans and by the sports journalists in the same season is something special that I will never forget,” Salah posted on Twitter.
“I would however give all those personal awards up for a chance at replaying that final, but that is not how football works.”
Mohamed Salah, had already mentioned that he will stay in Anfield for the following season. With that being said, Mo admits his eagerness to get back to work next season.
“I cannot express in words how much we wanted to bring that trophy back to Liverpool. But in the end we couldn’t,” added Salah.
“I cannot thank the fans enough for your support.
“It has been a very long season but a part of me wishes the next one starts again tomorrow.”
