FC Barcelona has started their week with retaliation against authority. A report appeared in Spanish newspaper La Vanguardia on Monday morning that La Liga boss Javier Tebas Medrano would be involved in presenting false evidence in the bribery case against the club.
Barça calls on Tebas to leave in a furious statement
Javier Tebas Medrano denied on Twitter on Monday, but that is not the end of the matter for the residents of Camp Nou. “FC Barcelona wishes to express its great anger, indignation and concern. We urge the president of La Liga to provide a public explanation that goes deeper than the tweet he sent out on Monday morning,” the statement begins.
“FC Barcelona, as President Joan Laporta has said in recent weeks, feels itself the victim of a media lynching over cases that never happened. FC Barcelona has never bribed referees. A handful of media and opinion makers have participated in this with, to a lesser or greater degree, bad intentions and behind the scenes La Liga is stoking the fire against our club,” the statement further added.
FC Barcelona demands an explanation from La Liga boss Javier Tebas Medrano
FC Barcelona wants an explanation, but it doesn’t seem that this dispute can be resolved over a cup of coffee, given how the statement is being prosecuted. They stated, “It is not the first time that the president of La Liga has used all his weapons to attack La Liga, but with all his nonsense we never expected that he would try to accuse our club with false evidence. Today’s news is so serious that it should alarm all clubs in La Liga, this is a practice that is not befitting the position of president of La Liga.”
So it ends with a call to get out: “For that reason alone, but also out of dignity and respect for the position, Mr. Javier Tebas Medrano should resign. However, we are aware of his obsession to attack La Liga. He is constantly demonstrating his aversion and manifest distaste for our club and we understand that he will continue with behavior that harms our club.”
