Sarina Wiegman and Lionel Scaloni won The Best FIFA Football Coach award. Wiegman was voted Trainer of the Year for the third time in her career at the FIFA gala in Paris. The men’s trophy went to Lionel Scaloni.
The Best FIFA Women’s Coach
Wiegman wrote history in July by winning the European Championship with England. At Wembley, Germany were defeated in the final after extra time. More than half a year later, Wiegman won the award for The Best FIFA Women’s Coach.

She thus beats competitors Sonia Bompastor and Pia Sundhage. For Wiegman, it is already the third time that she has won this prize, after 2017 and 2020. No other coach in women’s football has managed to win more than once.

The Best FIFA Men’s Coach
Scaloni won the men’s election. The Argentinian led his country to the world title in Qatar and, thanks to this performance, remains ahead of competitors Carlo Ancelotti and Pep Guardiola. The latter was nominated for the third time, but missed again.
