Raheem Sterling may leave Manchester City in the summer. City are now showing a willingness to let Sterling leave this summer, according to Football Insider.
Sterling May Leave Manchester City in the Summer
Sergio Aguero, having spent a decade with City, will already be leaving for free once his contract expires this season.
Sterling’s own talks over extension with the club were in a delay due his being in between agents.
But now, it seems, England international Sterling may be allowed to join him in exiting Etihad for the right offer.
Football Insider adds that City would want a transfer fee of £80 million to let Sterling leave.
Falling Out of Favor at City
Raheem Sterling enters the final two years of his contract with Manchester City this summer.
And his desire to leave in January transfer window might seem like a distant memory, but the rumours have never subsided.
Speculation over summer moves is heating up, and it is again linking Sterling to a move away from City.
Another telling sign of Sterling’s declining influence at City is the 26-year-old’s lack of game time.
Sterling has managed just 22 minutes across the club’s last four Champions League games. He didn’t play at all in their 1-2 away win over PSG at the Parc des Prince.
Sterling Out, Haaland and Grealish In?
Head coach Pep Guardiola is strategizing a dramatic overhaul of City’s attacking team.
And per report, Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland and Aston Villa talisman Jack Grealish are top targets.
Both are players the presumptive Premier League winners would like to add to their squad as superstar signings.
Meanwhile, winger Sterling has started just one of City’s last five Premier League games. Already Phil Foden dominates the left hand side, and Grealish’s arrival would signify even more competition for Sterling to start.
