Leicester City has defined William Carvalho as one of its top goals this summer and was willing to make a large investment for the Portuguese international.
Now, Carvalho has reached an agreement with Leicester, with the Premier League club only having to pay Real Betis a fee.
However, reports that while Leicester and Carvalho have agreed terms, the English side is not yet offering close to what Betis is demanding.
Betis paid the Portuguese club €16 million in 2018 for 75 per cent of the player’s rights, plus another € 4 million in variables.
But a percentage of any transfer fee would go to Carvalho’s previous club, Sporting CP.
For the other 20 percent of the player, depending on whether he reached a certain number of matches, the Andalusian club had a non-compulsory buying option for 10 million euros.
