Epson Tour Championship: Following the end of the Epson Circuit Championship, the culmination of the LPGA’s development tour, ten golfers received LPGA Tour cards for the 2023 season.
Jaravee Boonchant of Thailand took first place on the Epson Tour in the grand finale. The 23-year-old improved his position in the Ascensus Race for the Card from 36 to 12 with the victory and $37,500 payday. The jump earned her an exemption into the LPGA’s Q-Series in December even though it wasn’t enough for her to break the top 10.

Linnea Strom, who had previously lost her card in 2021, was in first place. The 25-year-old Swede was a rookie in 2019 after placing sixth on the Official Money List of the previous Symetra Tour in 2017. In her first year, she finished in the top 20 three times, and in 2020, she placed in the top 10 twice. After struggling in 2021 and missing 13 cuts in 21 starts, Strom thought about her alternatives, including giving up.
When Strom successfully earned her card in September of last year, she admitted, “To be honest, I was really close to quitting up.” “I’m so grateful I didn’t. I’m simply so grateful that my family and instructors are so encouraging to me. That, in my opinion, is really crucial. You need to assemble a strong team around you that will stand by you at all times.
Before going pro in 2018, Strom competed for Arizona State, where she helped the Sun Devils win the 2017 NCAA championship and won the Pac-12 Conference championship on an individual basis in 2016.
Xiaowen Yin, who placed No. 2 and is only 17 years old, will turn 18 in December, just in time to make her LPGA Tour debut in 2023. Yin goes to every tournament with her parents because of her age. She quips that her father brings her luck.
Lucy Li, a 19-year-old who finished third in the standings after registering two victories and six overall top-ten finishes, was the first member of the group to mathematically secure her card in August. The sole top-10 player, Li, chose to participate in the LPGA MEDIHEAL Championship rather than the LPGA International this weekend in an effort to make as many starts as she can before her debut on the tour next year.
The complete list of athletes who qualified for the LPGA Tour at the Epson Tour Championship is as follows:
1. Linnea Strom

3. Lucy Li
4. Kiira Riihijarvi
5. Grace Kim
