LPGA Title: Her first LPGA victory in nearly six years, Charley Hull won The Ascendant LPGA benefitting Volunteers of America championship in Texas.
Hull and Lydia Ko and Xiyu Lin were tied for the lead after 11 holes, but Hull went on to make three straight birdies to take the lead.
Lin made a birdie on the 16th and an eagle on the 17th to get within one stroke of the leader as the following pack continued to put pressure on Hull.

Lin needed a birdie on the last hole in order to force a playoff, but she fell just short, giving Hull the victory. Hull made par.
Since I last won a championship, “I’ve gotten close a few times, but I’ve worked hard this year,” Hull added.
“I believe I am aware of my ability; it was only a matter of confidence.” I feel fantastic like I had complete control over my round, and I’m quite proud of myself.
“(On the chasing pack applying pressure) I found it very fascinating; I liked it when Xiyu Lin made eagle on 17.” It was a lot of fun.
2016 was Hull’s last victory on the Tour when she took home the CME Group Tour Championship in Florida.
Hull, Lin, and Ko shared the lead heading into the fourth round with a score of 11-under.
Hull moved to 14-under after recording four birdies and a bogey on the front nine, one stroke behind Lin and Ko.
Lin bogeyed the 11th to drop to second place, but the 26-year-old came roaring back on the back nine, shooting three straight birdies.
Hull, who came onto the spotlight as a youth but has had a few unproductive years, has made a spectacular reversal with the victory.
She now joins English women who have won several LPGA titles, like as Dame Laura Davies and Alison Nicholas.
Hull is slated to play in the Pelican Women’s Championship in Florida as the LPGA tour continues to The Saticoy Club in California for the MEDIHEAL Championship.
