Golf News: Barry Lane went away when he was 62 years old. The golfer’s tragic passing was verified by the DP World Tour on their social media page.
English golfer Lane competed in the Ryder Cup and on the European Tour. His love for golf has never wavered, and despite being in his 60s, he continues to play in competitions.
Keith Pelley, CEO of the DP World Tour, praised the golfer. According to Keith’s comments, which Golf Digest cited:
“We are shocked to learn about Barry Lane’s demise. His commitment to the game of golf is demonstrated by his degree of success on both the European Tour and the now-legends tour. He was a well-liked character on both tours.”
Pelley added the following:
“I’m pleased he had the chance to deliver the Legends Tour’s Rookie of the Year Trophy in December. It is a fitting tribute that the trophy has been renamed in his honour. Everyone in the European Tour group is thinking of his wife Camilla, the Lane family, and his numerous friends in the golfing community.”
Barry Lane used social media fairly frequently. He frequently showed his family photos. Lane and his wife Camilla travelled to Mauritius last month, which was a difficult journey. Despite being ill, he had the good fortune to say goodbye to his pals.
The Rookie of the Year trophy, which bears Barry’s name, was presented. On his Twitter page, Lane published a photo with the caption:
