Going into the last round of the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship on the DP World Tour, Shane Lowry and Francesco Molinari are sharing the lead with another player.
At the Yas Links Abu Dhabi, Lowry and Min Woo Lee each shot a third-round score of 66 to join Molinari, who shot a three-under 69 to maintain his overnight lead, on 13 under heading into the final day.
Grant Forrest of Scotland, Sebastian Soderberg, and Victor Perez are tied for fourth place, one stroke back, while Padraig Harrington improved his chances of being the oldest winner in DP World Tour history with a final-round 64.
With 15 players within three strokes of the lead going into what should be a fascinating final day of the Rolex Series competition, Harrington is two strokes off the lead along with Antoine Rozner, Adrian Meronk, and halfway leader Guido Migliozzi.
Tomorrow is Super Sunday in Abu Dhabi.
When Lowry took advantage of the par-five second hole, punched out for eagle at the par-four sixth from 155 yards away, and then made birdies on both of his subsequent three holes to finish the round in 31, he moved into contention while still three shots off the lead at the halfway point.

The Irishman missed a close-range birdie opportunity at the 14th but converted a 35-foot putt at the following hole to temporarily take the lead alone. Lowry offset a botched bunker attempt and bogey at the 17th by winning a hole-in-one at the par-five 18th.
Tomorrow, Lowry remarked, “I have a chance to go out there and do something amazing.” I’m hoping to bring the same game I brought the last three days and make a few putts as well.
While Molinari, who is attempting to win for the first time since March 2019, was a shot back for the majority of the back nine until he broke a run of pars with a closing birdie. Lee combined seven birdies with a lone bogey to also tie Lowry for the lead.
Forrest, who finished with four birdies in his final eight holes, will finish in the penultimate group after shooting a seven-under 65. Soderberg, who shot a third-round 66 that included a triple-bogey at the par-three eighth, is also one back.
With a chip-in birdie at the sixth and a holing shot from 25 feet at the eleventh for the first of six straight birdies, Harrington made the largest move of the day.
Becoming the oldest winner would mean a great deal to Harrington. “I genuinely believe it would mean something completely different if I went and won right now. That would indicate that I truly enjoy competition.
“If I go and steal a win somewhere, that’s wonderful, I can put it on my resume as the oldest winner, but if I go into tournaments talking a big game and deliver, that means I’m a player again with the young guys.”
