At UFC 282, Paddy Pimblett hopes to make a comeback as the “star of the show,” but the British fighter is still looking for a challenger to “step up.”
Despite just competing in three fights since making his UFC debut in Las Vegas in September 2021, the 27-year-old has established himself as one of the most recognisable competitors in the organisation.
The 3-0 fighter known as “The Baddy” declared his intention to compete at UFC 282 on December 10 in Las Vegas, adding: “I’m looking for a challenger; I’m waiting for someone to take the initiative and sign the contract.
“Everyone talks about The Baddy and fighting me, but when the contract is in front of them, they don’t seem to be as sure of themselves.
“I don’t think anyone is avoiding me; I don’t look particularly intimidating, and when people see my style, they all assume I’ll defeat him. They don’t have the recognition or fan base that I do.
“The entire world will know who you are when you fight me. I won’t mention anyone by name, yet I get a lot of attention since I am the main attraction. I don’t discuss anyone.
Pimblett defeated Luigi Vendramini, Rodrigo Vergas, and Jordan Levitt in the first and second rounds, respectively, in all three of his UFC fights.
The Liverpool native’s life has improved since making it into the UFC.
“My last trip to the United States was for business, whereas my first trip there was like a vacation. I was there for meetings and training.
“I enjoy it this way; I’m a social butterfly, and I detest staying home by myself. It’s amazing, I love being around people. Everything in my life has changed, and it’s for the best.
