Tennis News: The four-time Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka posted a video of herself working out on the beach and at the practice court. Osaka, 25, revealed she was expecting in January. Osaka plans to sit out the entire 2023 season, but it’s expected that she’ll return at the start of the 2024 season.
“Outside but barely lol,” Osaka captioned her Instagram image.
The reports of Osaka’s retirement were denied.
The former world No. 1 declined to be in any of the competitions leading up to the Australian Open.
Osaka, a two-time Australian Open champion, withdrew after that. Given how little she had played over the previous year and a half, some people claimed that Osaka’s career was likely finished after she withdrew from the Australian Open.
Osaka then made her pregnancy announcement on Instagram. Osaka stated in her article that she would like to attend the Australian Open once more in 2024. “To put it mildly, the last few years have been fascinating, but I believe that the most difficult moments in life may also be the most enjoyable.
“I truly have a newfound passion and appreciation for the sport I have devoted my life to as a result of these few months away from it. I am aware of how brief life is and I try not to take any of it for granted. Every day is a blessing and an experience.
“I know I have a lot to look forward to in the future, but one thing I’m excited about is when my child recognises me as his or her mother when they see one of my matches. I want to see you folks at the beginning of the next year because I’ll be in Australia in 2024. 2023 will be a year full of lessons for me.
“You all have my undying love. Note: I don’t think there is a completely right path to take in life, but I always felt that if you move forward with good intentions you’ll find your way eventually,” Osaka stated on January 11th.
