Billie Jean King Cup Finals: Due to her inability to recover from a wrist injury, Emma Raducanu has been forced to withdraw from Great Britain’s Billie Jean King Cup Finals team.
Despite withdrawing from the Transylvania Open and Guadalajara Open due to a wrist injury, Raducanu had been called up along with Harriet Dart, Heather Watson, Katie Boulter, and a fifth player at a later date for the event to be held in Glasgow from November 8–13.
Despite extensive therapy, the 19-year-old has been unable to recuperate in time, and Raducanu has confirmed that she won’t be ready in time.
The Lawn Tennis Association expressed regret that Emma Raducanu had to withdraw from the BJK Cup Finals on its official Twitter account.
“Emma, we hope to see you back on the court soon.”

Raducanu was cited by the LTA as saying: “It’s disheartening to learn that I won’t be ready in time from the doctors, especially because it will be on home ground.
“I made every effort to complete it by the deadline. Since my previous competition, I have been putting daily effort into my physical preparation and recovery.
“I have faith in my teammates and am eager to play next year.”
This year, Raducanu has dealt with a number of injuries, including a muscle strain that caused her to retire from her Korea Open semifinal match against Jelena Ostapenko in September.
Her season has already been plagued by blisters, hip, and back issues, so the recent injury news is disappointing for her chances of finishing the year strong.
Prior to 11 a.m. on November 7, the day before the round-robin match play is scheduled to begin, Billie Jean King Cup skipper Anne Keothavong is permitted to make up to three changes to the team.
Twelve teams will participate in four round-robin groups of three during the Billie Jean Cup Finals, with the victorious teams moving on to the semifinals.
Team GB was given a spot in the finals as the host nation, advancing them to the top level of the competition for the first time since 1993 despite losing to the Czech Republic.
