Nick Kyrgios hit back at Borna Coric saying he was not bothered by the criticism of Novak Djokovic’s Adria Tour where a number of tennis players tested positive for the coronavirus. Apart from Djokovic and Coric, Grigor Dmitrov and Victor Troicki also tested positive for the virus which was immediately abandoned. Djokovic was the face behind the tour and later apologised admitting he was wrong in taking part of the tournament.
“I read what he wrote, but I simply don’t care because he likes to be a general after a battle,” Coric said. “If someone else was teaching lessons I would have understood, but Kyrgios … it’s somehow not realistic.”
Kyrgios also criticized Andre Zverev after a video was posted on social media showing him dancing in a crowded club. This was after the player promised to self-isolate after being a part of the Adria Tour. “I agree that was not good, Zverev acted badly,” said Coric. “But I don’t see the need to criticise fellow players in such away. I wouldn’t do it, but again, it’s Kyrgios.”
Kyrgios then took to social media telling Coric that he should care of his comments suggesting that Coric had the intelligence of a doughnut. “Do you have rocks in your head?” Kyrgios said on Twitter. “Again, you can stand up for your mates, I’m just trying to hold them accountable. They are tennis players, they aren’t special,” he added
