Jelena Jankovic last played professional tennis way back in 2017. This is mainly due to the many injuries that plagued her. However it seems that her fitness levels are up again. The good news for all tennis fans is that she is returning to the tennis court on the ‘Adria Tour’ which is being organized by Novak Djokovic.
Novak basically came up with the idea for the Adria Tour where a series of exhibition matches are going to be played across 4 Balkan countries. The tour will last from June 13th to July 15th with the money coming from it set to be distributed to charities.
Jelena Jankovic has signed up for a mixed doubles event taking place in Belgrade that will feature Novak also. She revealed, “I am glad that I will join this wonderful tennis event that our Belgrade deserved at Novak’s invitation. It is about Novak’s great idea, which he implemented to the delight of the tennis audience. it will be a spectacle. I am happy to play in front of the home crowd in our Belgrade. I last came out on the field in September 2017. See you soon!”
Novak himself revealed, “I am very happy at the arrival of Jelena Jankovic, who is returning to tennis after a long time. I’m very glad that I was looking at Adria Tour and what we will together be part of the tournament.”
