Playing alongside David Silva was a pleasure for former Manchester City defender Kolo Toure.
“We called him The Maestro,” the long time Arsenal centre-back told Stats Perform News (via Goal).
Toure also marvelled at how the playmaker in Spain interacted with his brother Yaya: “He’s a great athlete, incredible technically. I enjoyed playing with him, particularly with Yaya.
“What you needed to do was pass the ball off to them. Yaya will move next to you and get the shot, so Yaya will see David in front and easily put the ball up and the attack was on.”
“David doesn’t go to fight, he’s searching for gaps, playing space between lines to support teams,” he clarified. “He’s not searching for fights, he doesn’t need it. He’s only trying to support us. It’s been a honor playing with him.”
