NBA Rumors: The LA Lakers have recently been included in additional NBA speculations. Jovan Buha of The Athletic recently suggested that the Lakers might think about dealing Patrick Beverley, focusing on their outlook for trades.
Over the course of the regular season and the offseason, the Purple and Gold have been mentioned in a number of trade speculations. Although Russell Westbrook has typically been regarded as the main trade piece in these speculations, the Lakers have also looked at other possibilities.
The Lakers will eventually have to make a deal in order to improve their chances of success going forward given the team’s patchy on-court performances.
Regarding this, recent speculations have already indicated that the front office is planning to start trading players they signed as free agents in mid-December.
While Westbrook is still a well-known player in trade discussions, the Purple and Gold have expressed a desire to have him finish the season with them. This, however, is reliant on his continued dependability as a valuable reserve player.
Inevitably, this prompts inquiries about other players the Lakers might be open to trading. Jovan Buha recently published a report on a few players on the roster who might be available for trade after December 15 to address this.
The Lakers guard Patrick Beverley stood out as a name in his article. Buha commented on this idea in his writing:
The Lakers can trade players they signed in free agency if they wait until at least December 15 to make a move, which is another advantage.
“Patrick Beverley, who earns $13 million annually and is the team’s fourth-highest-paid player, is a guy to keep an eye on. Beverley is still one of the team’s outspoken leaders and an exceptional defender, but he is averaging 4.1 points per game and shooting a career-worst 23.8 percent from beyond the arc.
“Beverley, like Kendrick Nunn, might still be valuable to clubs in need of seasoned backcourt aid. Both guards are disposable due to the Lakers’ needs and guard glut.
Buha brought up some important issues when he identified Patrick Beverley as a potential trade chip for the Los Angeles Lakers. Beverley hasn’t generated much buzz on the offensive front since acquiring the guard in the offseason.
Beverley’s offensive production, which averages just 4.1 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game, hasn’t drawn much attention. The LA Lakers haven’t gotten as much out of dealing for the seasoned guard, despite the fact that he remains a strong defensive presence and a leader in the locker room.
