Boxing Fight: Karriss Artingstall is looking forward to moving up to eight rounds in Bournemouth later this month when she wants to “break down” her opponent Jade Taylor, who is undefeated.
After defeating Linzi Buczynskyj by points in six rounds at the end of March, the Olympian improved to 3-0 in her brief professional career.
She views her most recent expedition as another crucial milestone in her growth, noting that Buczynskyj’s activity and desire to participate brought out the best in the 28-year-old.
‘She arrived with the intention of winning. She didn’t simply show up to hunker down and flee,” Artingstall told Sky Sports.
“Where I’ll do better as well is there. If I’m getting bullets back at me and I have to keep alert, I’ll realise I’m engaged in combat. not only there to receive a victory delivered to me. I had to exert myself in the battle. Not only a walkover, either. It was wonderful that she didn’t just hand it to me. For me, it was a successful boxing evening.
“I think [Taylor] will be like my last opponent; I think it was a very close fight between them both.”
Taylor, who defeated Buczynskyj in April of last year, enters her contest with Artingstall with a perfect professional record of 5-0.
“We both want to succeed,” Artingstall said. “Since Jade hasn’t yet faced loss, she’s undoubtedly feeling really confident, on a roll, etc. She clearly entered this bout believing she would win 6-0, so I’m anticipating a solid fight.
“I’m now physically able to complete 10 [rounds]. With my fighting approach, I believe I also dismantle opponents over time. I definitely could have gone longer after I concluded that [final] battle. But I was only able to get six.
“This is eight rounds,” I said. “I’ll likely follow that with another eight, and then I’ll consider doing a 10-rounder towards the end of the year.”
While Artingstall is still researching her future opponent, she has no concerns that she will continue her career’s unblemished start.
Every time I enter the ring, “I back myself 100%,” she continued. “I am aware of my rigorous training. The closer I get to the ring, the more confident I am. I know I put the work in, so I know when the time comes and the day arrives, I’m heading into that ring.
“And once the bell rings and my opponent has fired a jab or a one-two and I’ve felt it, I’m off to the races. My self-assurance soars to new heights. because I am aware of the effort I have put in.
“I just like it, and as the rounds progress, I’ll start to demonstrate the things I’ve been working on at the gym.”
