“Initially the first few days [after the fight] were deflating, but I’ve got a great team around me, a great family. I’m in the gym, I enjoy being in the gym now and it’s about using it as motivation.
“I think I demonstrated in that last bout that I belong at the world level. It’s fire in the gut.
“I’ve fought in a lot of domestic battles over the years, and now I want to win those world titles. This has given me even more drive to return and show everyone that I belong at the top.
“Every cloud has a bright spot. Although I didn’t get the desired outcome in Scotland in February, the support I received after the fight was incredible, and I hope all of my new supporters will stick by me in the future.
“Josh has said and done things after the fight I don’t think the public have taken well to, but it is what it is. It’s nothing to do with me.
“Ultimately, I would love to get that fight again and go and settle it.
“Hopefully that can be done sooner rather later, but the main focus is me now and moving forward with BOXXER and Sky Sports, and getting settled into the next stage of my career.”
“This feels like a fresh start,” Catterall continued. I have complete confidence in my abilities to use BOXXER to win more world championships. I still have a few solid years in the sport ahead of me because I’m only 29. I want to provide the audience with exciting fights.
“I genuinely believe that those big fights can be delivered through BOXXER and Sky. It’s a huge platform for me to perform on and I am mega excited about it.”
