Boxing News: When he faces off against undefeated Scottish heavyweight Nick Campbell next week, Steve Robinson will be seeking atonement.
In an unexpected loss to Shane Gill in February, Robinson experienced the first setback of his professional career.
However, he is utilising the chance to redeem himself when he faces Campbell on the Bournemouth card on December 17.
“I know Nick is on my route to where I need to be,” Robinson said in reference to his opponent’s progress.” I don’t want to be bubble-wrapped after that loss. I don’t want to go on five, or six fights against nothing to get there.
“I’m confident that on Saturday, July 17, I’ll demonstrate why I belong there.”
Robinson claims he will take the Gill fight as a lesson and move on. He told Sky Sports, “I always say if you look in the rearview mirror the entire time you’re driving your car, you’re going to crash.
“It was hard, it was tough, but as I say, it’s pointless looking back at the past. It’s about creating the future and making sure that what I do from this point forward is correct. It was tough, but it comes with the sport, and without having a thick skin you wouldn’t be where you are in boxing.
On December 17, we’ll determine where I deserve to be.
In addition to being unbeaten, Campbell has won all five of his matches thus far by knockout. However, Robinson has noted issues with his boxing.
He hopes to maintain his winning streak of knockouts, according to Robinson.
The commenter added, “I can see it not going through the fourth.” He is heavy-handed and his shoots appear stiff, but when you are heavy-handed and your shots are stiff, you become stiff, and if you are not moving around, there are things to exploit.
The Newcastle man continued, “I’ll simply make sure that no matter what I leave that ring triumphant. It’s Valhalla and I’ll demonstrate it.”
Robinson claims that their match will have an advantage because it pits England against Scotland.
