The Nevada State Athletic Commission has issued Jarrell Miller a boxing licence that is valid for a limited time.
The Nevada State Athletic Commission had previously suspended Miller prior to his match against Jerry Forrest on July 9, 2020.
After news of a negative drug test derailed plans for the fight in Las Vegas, Miller denied “willingly” using a performance-enhancing substance.
The New York State Athletic Commission also declined to grant the Brooklyn heavyweight a licence to compete against Anthony Joshua in 2019 as a result of a negative drug test result from March of that year.
In a video apology posted to Instagram, Miller said he “messed up” and promised to “come back better”.
Miller’s participation in his Joshua fight was already in jeopardy after the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA) notified both camps of a negative drug test result, disqualifying him from the Madison Square Garden fight.
The 34-year-old, who is unblemished, started his career again earlier this year with two unnoticed victories in Tennessee and Buenos Aires.
But Miller has recently received permission to compete in Las Vegas over the coming few months.
According to a statement given to Sky Sports by the Nevada State Athletic Commission, Jarrell Miller was given a professional boxer’s licence that would expire at the end of the year and be valid till 2022.
