Selfie Controversy: A lady engaged in the incident has claimed that Prithvi Shaw assaulted her in a dramatic turn of events over the “selfie issue” surrounding the Indian batsman. Earlier on February 16, it was claimed that a dispute over selfies swiftly turned into a brawl, in which Shaw, unfortunately, became engaged.
In a police investigation, as reported by NDTV, up to eight people have been implicated for reportedly charging at Shaw and his friend, breaking the glass of their car, and demanding 50,000. The incident, however, appears to have taken a dramatic turn when Sana, alias Sapna Gill, was notified by her lawyer, Ali Kashif Khan, that the police in Mumbai were refusing to let her go for medical tests. Additionally, the attorney claims that Shaw hit the woman with a “stick” and assaulted her.

“Prithvi hit Sapna and assaulted her. Prithvi was holding a stick in his hand. The group was initially attacked by Prithvi’s companions. At the moment, Sapna is at the Oshiwara police station. She cannot leave for medical attention because of the police,” Ali Kashif was quoted as saying by India Today.
The altercation started when the woman and her companion Shobhit Thakur approached the player when he was dining with a pal to take a selfie. As the woman returned with repeated requests, it is thought that Shaw had originally agreed to take the images but then declined to take part in more.
Shaw’s companion was forced to request assistance from the hotel manager after the group of people persisted in their demands. The accused were furious when the manager stepped in and demanded that they leave the area. The accused then proceeded to smash the front and back windows of Shaw’s friend’s car with a baseball bat, according to the police report. In addition, the organisation sought an additional 50,000 and threatened legal action if the cricketer did not pay.
