India’s Tours: As BCCI chief selector Chetan Sharma unveiled a total of four squads for India’s forthcoming trips of New Zealand and Bangladesh, Prithvi Shaw was left off. Before playing three ODIs against the same team, India will play three T20 Internationals against New Zealand beginning November 18. They next embark on a two-Test and three-match ODI tour of Bangladesh. Chetan Sharma, the top selector for India, responded to a question regarding the decision to pass on Shaw by saying that they are constantly monitoring the player and that he will have another opportunity in the future. However, just after the squads were revealed, Shaw’s shared a mysterious message on Instagram Story.
Shaw posted a message to his Instagram story saying, “Hope you are watching everything Sai Baba.”
When asked about Shaw’s omission, Chetan Sharma responded that it is crucial for the selection committee to give opportunities to the players who are currently there and functioning well in the squad setup. Shaw will “absolutely have his chance,” he added, though.
“Primarily, we’re seeking Prithvi (Shaw). We communicate with Prithvi frequently. His condition is good. Nothing at all is wrong with him. The key is to see whether the performers and musicians already on stage are given opportunities. He will undoubtedly have his chance while batting away. Selectors frequently communicate with Prithvi. Every time we are at a match, we chat to him, and he will soon have his chances “said the Indian cricket team’s chief selector.
