Additionally, the 35-year-old said, “I think that just comes from being able to hang in there and play in the IPL and be around people like (Mumbai and India Test captain) Rohit Sharma and these guys to learn from them.”
Green’s brilliant batting efforts for Mumbai Indians (MI) in the cash-rich league helped to justify his exorbitant price tag of INR 17.5 crore. The Australian teenager finished IPL 2023 as MI’s third-leading run scorer with 452 runs scored in 16 matches at a strike rate of 160.28.
When Australia plays India, Green is expected to show up with both a bat and a ball.
Australia will look on Green to stand up against India with both the bat and the ball in the championship match and assist his side win the coveted mace. The 24-year-old has so far participated in 20 Test matches for his country, recording 941 runs and taking 23 wickets. Green’s batting statistics against India are respectable; in nine innings in six games, he has scored 371 runs, including a century and half-century.
