GT20 Canada: The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has granted a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to two of its finest players, Shakib Al Hasan and Litton Das, to play in the third edition of the GT20 competition in Canada. Notably, BCB frequently denies NOC to players in order to keep them interested in international cricket, since players found it difficult to play all of the matches in the recently finished Indian Premier League (IPL) and earlier, in the county championship as well.
Notably, Shakib will be eligible for selection from July 20 through July 29, whereas Litton will be available for selection throughout the competition, which concludes on August 6. Jalal Yunus, the chairman of Bangladesh’s cricket operations, acknowledged the new events and added that because there was no international fixture, BCB had no difficulty providing them NOC.
“Shakib’s NOC to compete in the Global T20 League was granted, and he requested NOC from July 20 to July 29.” Liton will also be present. He has requested that NOC play from July 20 to August 6. Both of their NOCs were granted,” Jalal was reported by the Daily Star as adding.
“Right now, there is no national duty, and they (Shakib and Litton) were cleared after discussions with the head coach and management. The competitive games that they can play in this period leading up to the World Cup are beneficial to us,” he continued.
Shakib Al Hasan will play in the Lanka Premier League following the GT20 Canada.
Notably, following the GT20, Shakib Al Hasan will immediately go to Sri Lanka to compete in the fourth edition of the Lanka Premier League. Following the competition, the senior cricketer will join the national side for the next Asia Cup. Bangladesh will initially visit Pakistan to face Afghanistan and Sri Lanka.
The team will then fly to Sri Lanka for the duration of the campaign assuming they qualify for the following round. Notably, the Asia Cup is scheduled to begin on August 31st.
