T20 World Cup: Last week, India’s 2022 T20 World Cup campaign got off to a successful start. At the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Sunday during the Super-12 stage, the first tournament victors overcame their bitter rivals Pakistan in a last-ball thriller. On Thursday at the Sydney Cricket Ground, Rohit Sharma and company face the Netherlands in their second game of the major event. ICC posted a video of India wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik practising some power-hitting in the nets on social media prior to the game.

The Indian cricket team chose against practising the day before their ICC T20 World Cup match against the Netherlands in Sydney because the practice location was more than 40 kilometres from the team hotel, according to sources in the BCCI. Black Town, which is 42 kilometres away from Sydney, served as the practice location.
However, it should be emphasised that the practice locations are chosen and approved by the individual teams well in advance.
Separately, according to BCCI sources, news agency ANI stated that Indian players were not given hot food after their practices and were dissatisfied with the after-practice meal they received in Sydney.
“The food provided to Team India was subpar. They were only handed sandwiches, and they also complained to the International Cricket Council (ICC) about the cold, bad food they received after a practise in Sydney,” ANI was told by a BCCI source.
