Delhi Capitals: Delhi Capitals and ICON Sports Academy began working together in January 2023.
Guwahati, 7 April 2023: The DC and ICON Sports Academy have partnered to launch the Northeast’s first DC Cricket Academy. Although ICON Sports Academy and Delhi Capitals have been working together since January 2023, the new DC Cricket Academy was only formally introduced on Friday at a press gathering in Guwahati.
The first cricket facility in Guwahati with an indoor practice area is the DC ICON Sports Academy. The academy also offers lodging options and numerous fields for aspiring cricketers to perfect their abilities. With the assistance of highly qualified BCCI Level 2 coaches and top-notch training facilities, young cricket players in the northeastern region have a fantastic opportunity to develop as players.
Sourav Ganguly, director of cricket, commented on the partnership with ICON Sports Academy as follows: “Many young boys and girls will get the chance to train on quality equipment and surfaces thanks to the Delhi Capitals Cricket Academy in Guwahati. With the help of the Delhi Capitals, I have no doubt that we will see cricket players from the northeastern region represent India.”
The DC ICON Academies’ Head Coach, Syed Zuffri Zakaria, remarked about the facilities of the training facility. “In Guwahati, one of the ICON School’s facilities is a cutting-edge indoor cricket facility. Four outdoor Astroturf wickets and a small field where kids may practise fielding make up the training facilities.”
The franchise’s effort to promote cricket at the grassroots level nationwide is known as the DC Academies. The Delhi Capitals have established 12 centres successfully across six states. There are up to four players spread among several IPL franchises. One of the features Yash Dhull, the captain of the Delhi Capitals team and winner of the ICC U-19 World Cup.
