Global T20 Canada: July 3rd, Mumbai/Brampton: The Global T20 Canada is expected to fascinate fans in Canada and throughout the world in less than twenty days. The main event will take place at the CAA Centre in Brampton, Ontario. The Montreal Tigers, one of six teams competing this year, will be led by coaching legend Dav Whatmore. The Montreal Tigers finished sixth on the points table in the previous two editions of the competition; however, for this year’s edition, they are fielding a revitalised side and are keen to jump into championship contenders.
Dav Whatmore discussed the fascinating squad combination and team philosophy ahead of the much-anticipated competition. “We’ve had a great draught, and I must say we’ve acquired some incredibly talented players to form our squad, which has all of us excited.”
“In a league full of amazing talent, we’ve had the privilege of selecting amazing players who will blow us away with their potential and skills,” he continued. “These people have a rare combination of inherent skill, determination, and a strong desire to succeed. I’m looking forward to seeing them play for the Montreal Tigers.”
Dav also discussed the team philosophy that guided their decision-making prior to the player draught, as well as the culture he intends for the squad. “Building a successful team entails more than just numbers and statistics; it is about recognising the unique characteristics that distinguish certain individuals and allow them to change the game. It is my obligation as a coach to look beyond the apparent. We believe in developing talent, providing opportunities, and creating an environment in which every player can thrive,” he added. “We firmly believe that every player, regardless of their background or experience, deserves a fair chance to showcase their abilities and leave their mark on the cricketing world.”
Dav Whatmore reaffirmed his belief in his team, saying, “Cricket fans, keep your eyes open, the Montreal Tigers are all set to roar louder than ever in Season 3 of GT20.”
The Montreal Tigers will begin their quest for the title on July 21st, when they face the newcomers, the Surrey Jaguars, at the CAA Centre in Brampton.
