IPL 2023: Rahul Tewatia has played six innings in the IPL 2023 and scored 63 runs with a strike rate of above 200.
Gujarat Titans, the defending champions, have maintained their dominance in the current season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. Gujarat is presently leading the IPL points table with 16 points after winning the championship in 2022. Gujarat will like to qualify for the playoffs as soon as possible because they are only one victory away from doing so.
Rahul Tewatia’s efforts were one of the key elements in Gujarat’s win in the IPL 2023. For the reigning champs, the 29-year-old has developed into the ideal finisher. Recently, he acknowledged that Titans captain Hardik Pandya was responsible for his achievement and said that the latter had given him a few match bats.
“He gave me two match bats this season. One day, he brought several fresh bats and requested me to examine them. I informed him that they were prepared for a match, and he instructed me to keep them. The bats listed above are the ones I’ve used thus far this season,” according to Rahul Tewatia on ESPNcricinfo.
“Good to see that you’re regularly finishing matches for us,’ he said to me after seven or eight games last season. Oh, I know that Tewu would finish the work for us, he would remark every time we were in a difficult circumstance. What else do you require when the captain has such faith in you?” he continued.
The 57th match of the season will be played on Friday, May 12, at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, where the Gujarat Titans will face the five-time champion Mumbai Indians. Mumbai has been playing well lately, and the Rohit Sharma-led team will want to keep up their winning streak now that their middle order is on fire.
